Craft fair

FARMINGTON — The Sandy Rivers Annual Craft Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the Sandy River Nursing Care Center, Route 133. Seafood chowder or corn chowder will be sold from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

RANGELEY — The next community breakfast with everyone invited to attend will be from 7 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Rangeley Lakes Bed and Breakfast. The cost will be $10.

Town party

CHESTERVILLE — There will be a free Chesterville Town Christmas Party at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, in the Chesterville Town Office on the Dutch Gap Road.

Everyone is invited to meet Santa, enjoy snack foods, beverages, cookies to decorate, sing Christmas carols, make crafts at the craft table and children take home bags filled with popcorn and candy. There will also be a separate corner for children to purchase a small gift for their parents which they will wrap. The cost to the children to purchase a parent gift will be 25 or 50 cents.

Festival of Trees

FARMINGTON— The Farmington Rotary Club’s Festival of Trees will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the University of Maine at Farmington North Dining Hall.

Free public viewing of the trees, wreaths and kissing balls. All day silent auction and raffle chances. Auction starting at 6 p.m.

There will be entertainment all day starting at noon with The Franklin County Fiddlers; the Mt. Blue Jazz Band will perform at 4:30 p.m. After the auction the Syncopations will perform and piano music at dinner will be provided by Joshua Hiltz.

Breakfast with Santa

FARMINGTON — A breakfast with Santa will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Sandy Rivers Nursing Care Center, Route 133. Santa will also be posing for pictures. The cost for the breakfast is $6 for adults and $3 for children and seniors. Pictures with Santa will be a minimal cost.

Celtic Revival

FARMINGTON — Celtic Revival from Prince Edward Island will present a high-energy Celtic dance and gospel production at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Farmington Baptist Church.

Rollicking Celtic fiddles mixed with Riverdance style Irish step dance and hilarious skits make up this performance. All members of the family perform on several instruments and all contribute to the rich vocal harmonies and lively dance.

Learn to ski

FARMINGTON — Registration is now open for SnowCats, UMF’s after school learn to ski program. The program is open to children in kindergarten through third grade.

Beginning Jan. 24, the program will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. for five weeks. All abilities welcome. UMF student instructors will work with groups of about six kids on technique, slope safety and enjoying the sport.
