Christmas sale
WEST PARIS — The Ledgeview annual Christmas sale will take place Tuesday, Dec. 6, and Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and also on Thursday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. to noon. Proceeds benefit the Activity Department. Donations are graciously accepted.
Rabies clinic
HARRISON — A rabies clinic will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Harrison Fire Station.
Rabies shots are $10 per dog or cat. Residents and nonresidents welcome. Dog licensing available for Harrison residents.
Proof of prior rabies vaccine is required if applicable. If proof of prior vaccination is not provided, the vaccine will only be valid for one year.
Texas hold ’em
HARRISON — The Harrison Lions Club will hold a Texas hold ’em tournament from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the VFW Hall, 176 Waterford Road.
The entrance fee is $55. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Food and refreshments will be available. Seats are limited to 100 players
Proceeds will be used to provide community services.
Breakfast with Santa
MECHANIC FALLS — Ladies Auxiliary Unit 150 will hold a Breakfast with Santa from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, and Sunday, Dec. 18, at the American Legion. The cost is $5 per person.
PTO festival
PARIS — The Paris Elementary School PTO will host a holiday festival and craft fair at the school from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10. This event is open to the public, and admittance is either $1 per family or 10 ‘Box Tops for Education.’
The craft fair will feature homemade crafts and goodies from many local vendors, consultants for various businesses such as Scentsy and Longaberger, and crafts made by Paris Elementary students. Wreaths (standard 20-inch) are available for $15 each, and buyers pick their own bow.
Other activities include raffle tickets for eight festive holiday baskets, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., arts and crafts stations for kids, a “Bake Walk,” School Book Fair, Santa’s Workshop for kids with free gift wrapping and more.
Benefit supper
PARIS — The Paris Fire Department Auxiliary and the Paris Fireman’s Relief Association will hold a public supper at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Paris Fire Department, Western Avenue. All proceeds will benefit Butch Larson who is battling cancer. Although Butch is now retired, he was a 20-plus year member of the Paris Fire Department.
Menu includes ham, potato, mac and cheese, veggies, salads, rolls and assorted homemade desserts.
Dowsing program
HARTFORD — Pinpoint of Light Spiritualist Center, Hartford Town Hall, 1190 Main St., will present a program about dowsing at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 11.
To learn dowsing is to learn one’s self, which is to learn energies, consciousness and spirit. Learn the basics of dowsing for personal use. Participants will learn to find energies around them and from physical objects. Bring a personal object such as a crystal or piece of jewelry on a chain or string to use as a dowsing tool and any object to practice on.

Choir rehearsals
NORWAY — Weekly rehearsals are underway for the annual Christmastide Concert at the Second Congregational Church, UCC, 205 Main St.
The choir, composed of community members from all over the Oxford Hills, will present a collection of both secular and sacred pieces. The English Hand Bell choir will also be ringing a variety of Christmas music.
