PLYMOUTH, N.H. (AP) — A pro-gun demonstration on the Plymouth State University campus drew counter-protesters and supporters.
The Concord Monitor (http://bit.ly/uiC7QE ) says Saturday’s event, held days after the latest shootings at Virginia Tech, was first billed as a pro-gun rights civil disobedience as two men would carry guns on campus to challenge a college regulation.
But the university received a restraining order from Grafton Superior Court barring former Epping police officer Bradley Jardis and Tommy Mozingo, a former soldier, to carry rifles on the campus. Jardis said he challenged the order in court.
Two campus groups organized opposing responses to the event. One set up a table where students could register support for legislation that would require public colleges and universities to allow guns on campus. The other opposed that bill and Jardis’ protest.
