- Assistant Fire Chief Derek Bryant, center, instructs students from the Western Foothills Junior Firefighting program on how to properly lift and carry a patient on a backboard Tuesday night. The group practiced finding an injured person in the woods and carrying them out by walking and using an ATV equipped with a rescue sled. The program recently added one student from the town of Dixfield and four from Peru for a total of 14 students participating.
