Eve service
WATERFORD — Waterford Congregational Church on Plummer Hill in Waterford Flat invites the community to its traditional Christmas Eve service which will begin at 5 p.m. There will be readings, carol singing and also holiday music presented by the choir under the direction of Jane Morse. The service will conclude with candles lit for the singing of “Silent Night.” A free-will offering will be taken for the benefit of the Waterford Emergency Fuel Fund.
Candlelight service
OTISFIELD — The annual community Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, at the Spurrs Corner Church, 1005 State Route 121.
The 1871 building will be decorated with seasonal greens and illuminated by lamplight for the traditional service of lessons and carols.
Featured musicians include pianist Marion Howe, violinist David Knightly, flutist Peggy Mowery and vocalists Maria Clark, Debbie Raven, Polly Bartow and Christina Erde. The church choir will perform an upbeat contemporary carol and the children of the church will present a classic rendition of “Silent Night.”
Rev. Rick Mowery will offer a brief meditation titled “From Here to Eternity.”
The program is directed and accompanied by church director of music Roy Clark.

Christmas dinner
PARIS — A community Christmas dinner will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street, across from the Fox School.
The meal is open to everyone at no charge. Take out meals are available. The church is wheelchair accessible.
