Bob “Mr. Polarization” Macdonald in his press conference on Dec. 15 has anointed himself — “I am the face of Lewiston, now.”
What a face of contradiction.
The bully, claiming to have the bully pulpit, ran a two-platform campaign based on maligning the Somali community. At one debate, he claimed all Somali boys don’t want to learn — all. Then he ran for cover and said of a Somali woman in the audience that she was one of the good ones.
Reminds me of the homophobe who says, “I work with gays.”
He claimed property owners and taxpayers on Lisbon street looked like a “fourth world” country.
Now that he has thrown his rhetoric around, looked like a fool on news stations across the state on election night threatening to “get” someone, he has turned over a new leaf and wants to “work with everyone” and will be “Mr. Happy” from now on?
He is not entirely credible either, or simply invents things.
He invented a story last year that a prominent restaurant owner on Lisbon Street was having all kinds of problems with the immigrant community. “Mr. Happy” made that up and only apologized after being confronted with the truth from the owner he wove into his fabrication.
Macdonald claims people laugh at Lewiston. He is wrong. Lewiston (and Auburn) have worked long and hard to recreate their image and downtowns.
After his election diatribe on the news, though, they have someone to laugh at.
