LIVERMORE FALLS — Police are investigating several burglaries that occurred within the last week.

A burglary was reported on Saturday at a Turmel Road residence, which is off Moose Hill Road.

The resident had been away for three days and returned to find that a television and jewelry box were missing, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said Monday.

Another resident had left a Christmas card and newspaper money out in a newspaper box in early December and learned Sunday it didn’t get to where it was intended, Steward said.

He had put the money and card out on Dec. 3 and the newspaper carrier came to his house on Sunday and asked him to pay for his paper, he said.

In another incident, a resident reported on Sunday that a 5-foot length of grounding copper was cut off a utility pole on Moose Hill Road.

Also, a Pleasant Street resident reported Sunday that a $500 laptop from Rent-A-Center had been stolen from his apartment, Steward said.

It is reported to have been taken between Friday and Saturday.
