AUBURN —  New Androscoggin County Commissioner Beth Bell of Auburn was sworn in Friday morning, replacing Jonathan LaBonte as the representative for Auburn, Poland, Minot and Mechanic Falls.

The oath was administered by Clerk Patricia Fournier at the county courthouse.

Bell, 51, was appointed last week by Gov. Paul LePage to fill the seat vacated by LaBonte when he became Auburn’s mayor on Dec. 21.

Bell will serve the remaining year of LaBonte’s four-year-term.
