LEWISTON — Central Maine Federal Credit Union hosted a reception on Dec. 7 to present donations to Androscoggin public elementary school librarians. This marks the credit union’s 10th year of donating to Androscoggin county public school libraries.
Central Maine Credit Union’s president, Vicki Stuart, said, “’Books for Kids’” is our credit union’s signature community project. We appreciate the service provided to the children of our community by the elementary school librarians. With economic hardships and budget cuts, the credit union is proud to support the schools of Androscoggin county. Each school is able to use the funds as needed for their library.”
Central Maine Credit Union, 1000 Lisbon St., has been active in the community since its inception in 1950.
This program has been recognized since 2003, with the Dora Maxwell Award in recognition of outstanding achievement in a social responsibility program. This year, the credit union received a first place Dora Maxwell Award.
