AUBURN — On Feb. 10, Lewiston-Auburn’s Community Little Theatre will open the second production of its 72nd season, “Almost, Maine,” by Maine playwright John Cariani.
The cast of eight actors, directed by Katie St. Pierre, will perform the two-act comedy at CLT’s home in the Great Falls Arts Center, 30 Academy St.
The cast includes stage veterans Roger Philippon, Jason Pelletier, Eileen Messina and Victoria Machado; and relative newcomers to the CLT stage, Kay Myrick, Chiara Ferrante, Christine Doucette and Van Beckman.
On a cold, clear moonless night in mid-winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the Northern Lights hover in the star-filled sky, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often funny ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend — almost.
“It is a popular comedy that has been performed all over the country, including a successful run at The Public Theatre in 2007,” St. Pierre said.
