FARMINGTON — Eileen Madelyn Brougham Dorman, 74, of Wilton passed away peacefully on Jan. 10, at the Sandy River Center for Rehabilitation, after battling a long illness.
She was born Dec. 26, 1937, in Bennington, Vt., to Edward and Madelyn Brougham. The family moved to Wilton in 1940. They subsequently moved to North Jay, where Eileen graduated from Jay High School.
Eileen was an admirable florist who enjoyed working with flowers. She had her own home-based floral shop and storefront shop in Wilton in addition to working in several floral shops throughout central Maine.
When not working with flowers, Eileen dedicated her life to caring for both her immediate and extended family members. She opened her heart and home unconditionally to her loved ones, comforting them with her laughter, delicious homemade meals and relentless motherly love.
Eileen is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, S. Peter Dorman; her five children and their spouses, Veronica (Ronnie) and Bruce Tilton, Monica and Alan Magrath, Carroll (Cal) and Jennifer Dorman, Catherine Davis and PeterPaul and Michelle Dorman; Eileen is also survived by her beloved granddaughter, Keirra Farrington Keenan, whom she helped raise; she is survived by 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sadly missed by her brother, Francis Brougham and her sister, Patricia Carleton.
She was predeceased by her parents; and siblings, Marie Mitchell, Teddy Brougham, Peggy Whitney and Danny Brougham.
