- Robert Gallant, 57, of Peru was traveling east on Route 108 near the Peru-Rumford town line when his truck crashed through the guardrail Wednesday afternoon. Trees prevented the ’92 Chevy truck from going farther down an embankment and onto railroad tracks. Rumford police officer Mike Belanger said driver inattention and road conditions caused the accident.
