Oliver Poulin was injured in a fall Monday sustained while at his work at the Lewiston Bleachery and Dye Works. Mr. Poulin pushed a truck loaded with a box of cloth onto what he supposed was the elevator. The elevator had been raised, however, and the box fell, dragging Mr. Poulin with it.

Auburn School Supt. Lewis E. Webber said last night that unless those responsible for the bomb scares at two Auburn schools yesterday are identified before the week is out, classes will be held this Saturday.
Webber said he was in contact with several members of the Superintending School Committee and they supported his decision to hold classes Saturday at Edward Little High School and Webster Junior High School. A full day must be made up at ELHS and at Webster School afternoon periods will have to be made up.

Lewiston-Auburn officials are breathing easier Friday after tests revealed the amount of dioxin in city sludge has dropped enough to allow it to be spread on area farmland.
Chemist Anne Poliquin of Lewiston-Auburn Water Pollution Control Authority said test results received Wednesday for sludge at the sewage treatment plant showed only a trace of the pollutant — enabling the authority to save thousands of dollars in sludge disposal costs.
