LIVERMORE FALLS — A resident in the area of Richardson and Knapp streets reported to police early Wednesday that a tractor-trailer had struck a utility pole and kept going, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.
The person heard a noise at about 6:20 a.m. He looked out the window and saw a utility pole cut in half. A truck hauling a flatbed trailer used to hold logs was heading down Richardson Street, Steward said.
The truck had turned onto that street from Knapp Street. The driver never stopped and no other information was available, Steward said.
“It was a hit and run,” he said.
