- Jay Fire Department presented the Firefighter of the Year award for 2011 to Kyle DeMillo on Monday evening. “Kyle was recognized for his dedication to duty and his great work ethic,” Public Safety Director Larry White Sr. said Wednesday. “He leads by example and is always willing to help out with any task that needs to be done. Kyle is a team player that looks out for others and always puts his fellow firefighters first before himself. He joined the Fire Department a year ago and has won the respect of all his fellow firefighters. Kyle is a real asset to the department,” he said.
