FARMINGTON — Peggy J. Mills, 89, of Farmington, passed to Heaven on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Orchard Park Rehabilitation Center.
Peggy was born Sept. 14, 1922, in Lisbon, to parents, John Darling and Esther Gayton Darling. Peggy graduated from Edward Little High School in 1940. She married Waman Mills of Phillips in Portland on April 1, 1945. They settled in Wilton, where she enjoyed life as a wife, homemaker and mother of five children.
She also enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating trips with her husband. She held various parttime jobs when her children got older; and after her husband’s death in 1977, she worked full time as an office clerk for Forster Manufactoring in Wilton.
In her retirement years, she was a beauty consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics for more than 20 years. She traveled to Hawaii a couple of times in her retirement; and to celebrate her 80th birthday, she traveled to Scotland. She spent 53 years devoted to caring for her physically handicapped daughter Linda which also brought many opportunities to travel around the U.S. to various conferences Linda attended.
