WEST PARIS — Voters will gather at the Agnes Gray school gymnasium at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 3, to consider a recommended town budget of $1,091,615.
Town Manager John White said that with a $30,522 budget increase over last year, property taxes are expected to increase from $14.80 per $1,000 of assessed value to $15.30. That would mean a $50 increase for a home valued at $100,000.
White said the town has faced a decrease of nearly $26,000 in revenues from other sources since 2011.
Voters will also decide whether to appropriate $801 from snowmobile registration reimbursement for the construction and maintenance of public snowmobile trails.
The Mollyockett Sportsman’s Club maintains the trails.
Voters will also be asked to raise and appropriate $19,400 for town recreation, including the swim instruction program and maintenance of the athletic complex; $2,500 for the West Paris Explorers After-School Program; and $250 for the maintenance and updating of the Veterans Monuments.
Voters will also choose a selectman, assessor, overseer of the poor, Water District director and school director for three-year terms.
