MEXICO — Police are looking for a young man who is believed to have stolen a laptop computer from Dyer’s Radio Shack on Feb. 18.
Mexico police Lt. Roy Hodsdon said the suspect is seen in footage from a security camera. A store employee chased the man but was unable to catch him.
Anyone with information about the man’s identity is asked to call the Mexico Police Department at 364-5686.
During the past week or so, members of the department have responded to about 40 calls. Among them are:
Thefts
* An Orchard Street resident reported at 8:56 a.m. Feb. 28 that someone entered his unlocked truck parked in his driveway and stole about $3,100 in chain and chop saws.
* A Fourth Street resident reported at 11:13 a.m. Feb. 26 that someone had stolen a GPS and an iPod valued at $350 from his unlocked vehicle.
* Joshua Hodgkins, 29, of Sun Valley Circle, was charged Feb. 21 in a case of gasoline theft from the Big Apple on Feb. 16. He was also charged with violation of conditions of release. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on May 8.
* Darryl Streeper, 23, Jay, was charged Feb. 23 in a case of gasoline theft from the Big Apple on Feb. 16. He was also arrested on a warrant for failure to appear. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on May 8.
Snowmobile recovered
* Following a tip from a Summit Street resident, police recovered a stolen 1997 Polaris snowmobile from a Thompson Hill location at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 27. The machine had minor damage. It was returned to its owner.
