PHILLIPS — A local man is accused of threatening hunters and pointing a shotgun at one of them Wednesday on Bray Hill Road, said Lt. Niles Yeaton of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.

Mark Cosenza, 60, of Phillips was charged by Cpl. Kenneth Charles with criminal threatening with a firearm, Yeaton said.

Six to 10 hunters on Bray Hill Road were approached by Cosenza at about 11:30 a.m. A verbal confrontation was followed by a threat and then Cosenza pointed a 12-gauge, semi-automatic shotgun at one of them, Yeaton said.

The party was hunting coyotes. The group had been hunting earlier in the day on another property, Yeaton said. That property owner asked them to leave and they left, he said.
