I am a 60-year-old man, born and raised in America. I served my country in Vietnam. I worked most of my life at a job that physically wore my body out. I changed jobs when it became too much, only to be replaced by someone younger.
The past few months have been spent searching for work and “trying” to survive on unemployment. I couldn’t afford my car so I had to give it up. I don’t have a cell phone or a computer — luxuries that I cannot afford. I can’t afford glasses, a trip to the dentist or even the apartment that my family and I live in. I can barely feed them.
I recently suffered a heart attack. I wonder why?
Is Gov. Paul LePage really thinking about the people in Maine?
He stated that people on unemployment were receiving too much money. All his cuts are geared toward the poor and lower middle class.
All people ever hear is that LePage made it out of poverty and others can, too.
Something else bothers me — people come into this country and they are living better than me. They have cars, homes, glasses, beautiful teeth, businesses downtown and medical care. How is that fair?
People wonder why Maine is in the hole.
Look for the American flag flying by the bridge; walk down and say hello. That is soon to be my new residence.
