CHESTERVILLE – The municipal budget for 2012 will be $634,572 if voters pass every article on the annual meeting warrant Monday.
The spending plan represents a $15,618 increase over last year’s budget, Town Clerk Patricia Gordon said Monday.
Of the proposed budget, $456,572 would be appropriated from taxes and $178,000 would be appropriated from excise taxes, she said.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Monday, March 12, at the Town Office. Polls will be open there from 1 to 6 p.m. to elect a selectman.
William Hastings and Daniel Tibbetts Sr. are seeking the three-year term on the board, Gordon said.
Current Selectman Oron Knowles II is not seeking re-election, she said.
There are 53 articles. Two of them are proposed amendments to the Land Use Ordinance and the third is a Flood Plain Management Ordinance. Copies of the ordinances are available at the Town Office.
Voters will also be asked what sum of money they want to raise and appropriate for the George Thomas Road project. Selectmen and the Budget Committee recommend $45,600.
