PARIS — Gov. Paul LePage will be in the area next week to visit businesses and conduct a town-hall-style meeting at the Oxford County Comprehensive High School.

LePage will visit the high school on the evening of March 15 after spending the day touring the county to speak to job creators and visit local businesses as part of his “Capital For A Day” program.

The governor will tour the high school after school hours and just before he holds the town-hall-style meeting with the public that evening at the building.

Principal Ted Moccia said he is looking forward to the visit by the governor.

“We believe our school is the model of what he’s talking about,” said Moccia, who was named the 2011 Principal of the Year by the Maine Principal’s Association.

The governor kicked off the first “Capitol for a Day” event in February of 2011 to reintroduce the “Capital for a Day” program that Gov. John McKernan began during his administration in an effort to bring what McKernan called the “two Maines” together after his 1986 election.

“Capitol for a Day” is designed to enable business leaders and the public to talk with the governor and discuss issues that are important to them, Bennett said.

LePage has been attending monthly town-hall meetings in Maine’s 16 counties and visiting businesses throughout Maine as part of this program.
