WINTHROP — Heritage Rehabilitation and Living Center has announced that the January recipient of the Resident Spotlight is Carolyn Morang. The Resident Spotlight is a program in which a resident’s life is featured every month.

Carolyn was born in North Livermore. She married Ernest Morang and raised two children. She worked 17 years in a factory that made clothing. She started out as a presser and worked her way up to become an inspector for the factory. When the factory closed she went on to take a position at a hospital in Augusta. At the hospital, she worked in the kitchen where they served about 50 people on a daily basis.

Over the years Carolyn has enjoyed gardening and still to this day enjoys helping prepare foods from the facility garden at Heritage. Carolyn has also enjoyed traveling to places like California, Florida and Cape Cod. Years ago, it would be common to see her out snowmobiling at this time of year.

Carolyn and her husband had a camp up by Moxie Falls and Carolyn would enjoy spending a week at a time up there. She has had many hobbies such as dancing, needlework, roller skating and traveling. Carolyn is a kind, loving person who enjoys being with others.
