FARMINGTON — The Mt. Blue Regional School District music department has announced the upcoming March “Music in Our Schools” concert series featuring the choruses, bands and orchestras in area schools.
Because of the continuing renovations at the Mt. Blue High School and the large number of student musicians involved in the performance ensembles, the district-wide concerts will be held in the Mt. Blue Middle School gym and grade levels and formats are changed from the traditional concerts held in past years. All concerts will begin at 7 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
Schools participating in these concerts include Academy Hill, Cape Cod Hill and Cascade Brook elementary schools, Mt. Blue Middle and Mt. Blue High Schools.
Starting the concert series will be the district-wide Chorus Festivals. On Wednesday, March 14, the grade 5 choruses and Mt. Blue High School chorus will perform in a joint concert under the direction of Lindsay Burke, Mark Phillips and Carol Shumway. Accompanist is Patricia Hayden. Also performing will be the Syncopations, Mt. Blue Voices and the Mt. Blue Middle School Show Choir.
