PARIS — A man who pleaded guilty to burglaries in Andover and Milton Plantation was sentenced to three years with all but nine months suspended and two years of probation Tuesday in Oxford County Superior Court.
Scott B. Billings Jr., 20, of Woodstock was charged with breaking into a Milton Township home and taking a gun and other items from a safe. The gun was later recovered.
Billings broke into a store in Andover and stole cigarettes and lottery tickets, Assistant District Attorney Joseph O’Connor said. The Maine Lottery Commission identified the stolen tickets and traced them to the stores that redeemed the tickets. Security cameras at those stores showed Billings and other people turning in the stolen winning tickets.
Billings and two accomplices who helped him break into the Andover General Store must pay a joint restitution of $1,728 to the store. He also must pay $1,056 to the victim of the Milton Township break-in.
