Mary Tyler of Auburn gets a shamrock crown from Auburn City Councilor Tizz Crowley while having breakfast at the Center Street Cafe on Saturday. Crowley was making the rounds as part of “Salute to Dinny Sullivan — Hats Off to Neighborhood Businesses,” a salute to Sullivan who exemplified hard work. Sullivan was a local merchant in New Auburn around the turn of the 20th century. Crowley helped organize the event that recognized community businesses in Auburn. Among the stops on the daylong event were local restaurants, public buildings and historic sites.
