DIXFIELD — Countryfolk Music Theatre will be closed this summer due to the ongoing building project,  said Larry Bisbee, who has operated the venue for the past 12 years.

“We are building the new Countryfolk Music & Minerals Museum out front and the current spectators building is full of construction supplies and will be that way for the next six months or so,” Bisbee said.

“We have more donations coming in all the time and our summer sawmill is the spectator building. We hope to finish the new building this summer or fall,” he added.

Bisbee said that Countryfolk’s youth music scholarship program will continue, and all resources and donations will go to the new building project this year.

Anyone wishing to volunteer to help with the project or who has vintage music photos, show posters, musician’s photos or mineral prospecting photos or equipment to donate may contact Bisbee at 645-4411 after April 1.
