RUMFORD — The Finance Committee will begin work this month on the fiscal year 2012-13 budget starting on Monday, April 9, with a public hearing at 6 p.m. on initiated article requests.
Unless otherwise noted, the meetings will be held in Rumford Falls Auditorium.
That hearing will be followed on Tuesday, April 10, with a meeting and public hearing, and then a vote on department budgets at 7 p.m.
The hearing and voting on department budgets will continue, starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11.
On Thursday, April 19, the Board of Selectmen are to receive the Finance Committee budget recommendations.
Starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, and Tuesday, April 24, selectmen will convene public hearings for ordinance requests.
Then, at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 17, a public hearing will be held on the proposed budget prior to the Board of Selectmen meeting at 7 p.m. Both selectmen and the Finance Committee will be present at the hearing.
The annual town meeting sans voting, except on the first few articles, will be held along with another public hearing on the budget at 6 p.m. Monday, June 4, with selectmen and committee members onstage at Mountain Valley High School.
Secret ballot voting on town meeting articles will start at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 12.
