FARMINGTON — Franklin County commissioners will begin review on Tuesday, April 3, of a proposed, draft budget of $5.3 million, which includes $1.6 million to operate the jail, for 2012-13.
A second day of budget review will be held Wednesday, April 4.
Some items have not been factored in, county Clerk Julie Magoon said Monday. Among them is money for a bond payment for a new dispatch center, if it is approved by voters on Tuesday, June 12. Commissioners will be discussing that issue during budget talks.
The proposed spending plan is $91,643 more than the current budget. After factoring in $580,600 in anticipated revenues, it brings the draft, net budget to $4.7 million.
Commissioners will start review at noon Tuesday beginning with program grant requests from Franklin County Children’s Task Force, Western Maine Community Action, Threshold to Maine, Greater Franklin Development Corp., and Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice.
Review continues with University of Maine Cooperative Extension, Franklin County Firemen’s Association, Tri-County Mental Health, SeniorsPlus, Western Maine Transportation, Franklin County Soil & Water and adult basic education.
At 9 a.m. Wednesday commissioners will consider Sexual Assault Victims Emergency Services, Register of Deeds, Register of Probate and Emergency Management Agency, treasurer, Superior Court, commissioners and courthouse.
After lunch, the Commission will review Maine Geo, Sheriff’s Department and communications, district attorney.
