LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen agreed by consensus Monday to have the town manager hire Gregory Given of Jay as the new superintendent of the Sewer Department and chief sewer treatment operator, Town Manager Kristal Flagg said Tuesday.

The decision came after an executive session, Flagg said.

Given, a grade-three wastewater operator in Augusta, was chosen from among 13 applicants, she said. His annual salary will be $52,000. He will start working Wednesday, April 4, with current Superintendent Kent Mitchell, who is retiring. Mitchell’s last day is May 4.
