The winning photo may look familiar to those who travel between Paris Hill and Buckfield via Mt. Mica Road. The barn is situated on a knoll overlooking scenic fields with rock walls, hills and mountains in the background.

Rawding is first and foremost a musician but she has become more interested in art and photography over the years. She started with a class in photography given by Skip Churchill and then went on to teach herself. She has a small studio in her home where she is now specializing in child photography. She also takes family, school, nature and still life photographs.

At the present time she is specializing in painted photography, where she uses black-and-white photos, then paints them with photo paints for a very unique and ethereal look. She has two photographs on the Art Wall in Auburn and has won several other awards including a second place in show, a purchase award and honorable mentions.

Rawding receives a prize package which includes a bird feeder and 40-pound bag of black oil sunflower seeds from Paris Farmers Union in South Paris, a gardening package of tools and a large bag of Miracle Grow Potting Soil from Aubuchon Hardware in Norway, a gift certificate for any combination of butter, eggs, meat, milk, grain, pet food, hay or compost at Rosebeck Farm in South Paris, and a quart of maple syrup from Colebrook Farm in South Paris.

The honorable mention photos were as follows: “Muscle Power” by Sandra Geddry of Norway, “Waterford” by Lee Dassler of Waterford and “Swift River” by Pearl Snowman of Peru. The winning photographers will be recognized for their work at the Annual Meeting in April.
