More than 100 people attended. The choir was directed by Priscilla Delehanty. Rev. Barbara Adlard said the Prayer of Invocation. Rabbi Hillel Katzir of Temple Shalom led the traditional chant of the Ashrei, Psalm 145. He has been instrumental in helping Genise understand the Jewish roots of Christianity.
Frank Blauvelt read the scripture 1 Timothy 4:1-16. The sermon was delivered by Rev. Dr. Glenn Miller. Deborah Dyer, church clerk, formally presented Stern as the candidate for Ordination. Rev. Susan Crane delivered the Charge to the Candidate and Congregation.
The Vows of Ordination were led by Rev. Dr. Alfred Fletcher. More than 20 ordained, licensed and lay ministers came forward to participate in the Laying on of Hands.
Moderator David Watson presented the Certificate of Ordination to Stern. A liturgical dance was performed by Laura Gouin. Stern and her husband Jeff greeted all as the reception began.
