Compass Club meeting canceled
AUBURN — The meeting of the Androscoggin Valley Square & Compass Club has been canceled for this Thursday evening, April 26. The next meeting notice will be sent out to its members in the future.
Danville Grange meeting
AUBURN — Members of Danville Junction Grange will meet at the hall at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26. The speaker for the evening will be Priscilla Locke from Cape Elizabeth Grange, accompanied by her therapy dog, Maxine.
Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting. All grange members are welcome.
Detachment meeting
AUBURN — The Central Maine Detachment will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the American Legion Post 31, 426 Washington St. FMF corpsmen are invited. All former Marines are welcome to join Semper Fi.
Garden class, work day
LEWISTON — A workshop on container gardening will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the St. Mary’s Nutrition Center, 208 Bates St.
Participants will learn how to grow food in containers and make a self-watering container garden to take home.
Workshop fee is $25; scholarships are available. Contact Lots to Gardens if you’d like to attend but cost is an issue.

A downtown garden work day will take place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Knox Street Community Garden and from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at the Blake Street Community Garden.

Cribbage winners
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on April 19 were: first place, Bert Belanger and Robert Oliver; second place tie, Sandy Verrill and Val Asselin with Connie St. Pierre and Andrea Metayer; third place, Lorraine Fillion and Edith Chambers; fourth place, Monique Nadeau and Arnie Burgess; fifth place, Linda Williams and Ed Hinckley.
