- Poland’s Whittier Middle School students welcomed three guest speakers from Sudan recently. Gatthak Lul Pan Chuol, Joshua Tethloath Gatkek Wang and Chan Dak Lham met with more than 100 eighth-graders and shared their experiences through the breakout of civil war in Southern Sudan all the way to becoming American citizens. The three have started a nonprofit organization, the Southern Sudan Children’s Project, which seeks funding for clean water and clinics in Sudan.
