Class of 1963 plans picnic
RUMFORD — Stephens High School Class of 1963 will hold a picnic luncheon on Friday, May 18, at Mt. Blue State Park. Classmates, family and friends will meet at Sylvia Kelly’s home in Dixfield at 10:30 a.m. and caravan to the picnic site. Individuals will provide their own lunch. Chemicals in the home
RUMFORD — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing is offering a free workshop for anyone interested in learning more about chemicals in household products. “Household Products and Our Health: Consumer Choices and Policy Decisions” will take place Tuesday, May 22, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Rumford Hospital, Conference Room A.
Science is increasingly showing that many health problems are caused or aggravated by dangerous chemicals contained in products that we use every day.
Presenters Emma Halas-O’Connor, grassroots organizer, Environmental Health Strategy Center; and Patty Duguay, director of River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition will discuss things you can do to keep yourself and your family as healthy as possible and avoid toxic chemicals in every-day products.

MVHS spring concert
RUMFORD — The Mountain Valley High School Music Department will host a spring concert on Wednesday, May 23, beginning at 6 p.m. The concert will include selections performed by the band and chorus. A number of special performances will include solos and small group offerings.
