Quilt class begins May 15
MONMOUTH — An eight-week quilt class will begin Tuesday, May 15, at the Packard Activity Center, which is in the lower level of the United Church of Monmouth, beginning at 5:30. The quilt is called The Disappearing 9-Patch Cuddle Quilt. The class is $25 for the eight weeks.

Classes will take place Tuesdays, May 15, 22 and June 19, and Mondays, May 28, June 4, 11, 25 and July 2, if necessary.
Youth arts festival
LEWISTON — Lewiston Housing Authority will hold the Youth Enrichment Program’s 21st annual Festival of Arts. The program will celebrate the arts, crafts and music performed by the children of the YEOP program on Tuesday, May 22 from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. at the Hillview Resource Center, 77 Rideout Ave. Doors open at 3 p.m. for the viewing of artwork. Kindergarten registration
MONMOUTH — A make-up day for kindergarten registration and screening will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at the Henry L. Cottrell School. This is for children who were not previously in the school’s Pre-K program or for those who missed the April registration.
Children must be five years of age on or before Oct. 15. A copy of the child’s original birth certificate, Social Security number and health record including immunization dates will be needed.
The child will be checked for height, weight, vision and hearing.

K and pre-K registration
GRAY — Fiddlehead Center will hold kindergarten and pre-K registration and open house from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30.
All children who will be five years old on or before Sept. 1 are eligible for kindergarten enrollment. Ask about the Bridge program for children who miss the cut off date but are ready for kindergarten. Fiddlehead has several options available, including full or half day, two-year kindergarten program for ages 4 and 5.
Private pre-K and Kindergarten programs are offered in a bright and engaging facility in Gray. Parents and students who wish to tour Fiddlehead Center are encouraged to visit the facilities.

Medical coding, records program
AUBURN — Beginning this fall, Central Maine Community College will offer an associate degree program in medical coding and electronic health records.
The program will prepare graduates for entry-level positions in hospitals, clinics, and medical offices. They will be qualified to maintain patient electronic medical records and report patient information according to the healthcare industry’s numerical coding system. Students may pursue the degree on a part-time or full-time basis. Applications for fall admission are being accepted.
In addition to this classroom-based program, a grant-supported online version of the medical coding and electronic health records program will be available to certain qualified applicants.
