COOPERS MILLS — Barbara Sturtevant, 91, a former resident of Main Street, Winthrop, died Tuesday, May 15, at Country Manor Nursing Home in Coopers Mills.
She was born December 18, 1920, in Attleboro, Mass., the daughter of Adolphe and Etta May (Riley) de la Feuilliez. She attended the Attleboro grade schools and was a 1939 graduate of Attleboro Mass High School. On July 14, 1940, in Winthrop, she married George H. Sturtevant, of Winthrop. He passed away in June 2001.
Barbara was a homemaker. She loved to cook and owned her own catering business. She worked as a waitress for several years at MacNarmara’s and the Steer House restaurants.
She is survived by a son, Peter H. Sturtevant, and his wife, Gail, of York; a daughter, Kelly B. Stevens, of Leeds; a sister, June Davis, of North Attleboro, Mass.; a daughter-in-law, Ellen Sturtevant, of Augusta; seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, George; a son, Mark E. Sturtevant; three sisters, Betty Colson, Gloria Achin and Lorraine Williams; two brothers, Raymond and Charles A. de la Feuilliez; and a son-in-law, Royal B. Stevens, in 2011.
