LEWISTON — On Friday, May 18, singer-songwriter and guitarist Scott Barkan of New York’s Hudson Valley will perform at She Doesn’t Like Guthries.

Barkan struck out as an acoustic-based solo artist in 2009, after years of working as an in-demand sideman for songwriters and bands around the country. His guitar playing and songwriting have been featured on such television shows as “The Real World,” “The Hills” and “Keeping up with the Kardashians.”

This summer, he will tour throughout the country in support of his new album, “Little Days,” released in January 2012.

Barkan will play at 8 p.m. No cover charge.

On Thursday, May 17, Three Point Trio will perform orignal jazz works as well as standards from the likes of Miles, Monk and John Coltrane. Members of the Lewiston-Auburn based ensemble areJohn Smedley on guitar, Tim Clough on double bass and Tom Schipper on drums.

Saxophonist Dale Chapman and trumpeter Adam Dolin will accompany the trio beginning at 6 p.m. No cover charge. Guthries is at 115 Middle St., Lewiston.
