FARMINGTON — The Mt. Blue Regional School District Music Department has announced the end of the year concerts in area schools.
On Tuesday, May 29, the Mt. Blue High School Jazz Band, under the direction of Karen Beacham, and the Mt. Blue High School Syncopations, under the direction of Carol Shumway, will present an evening’s concert at 7 p.m. in the Nordica Auditorium.
Two concerts are scheduled on Wednesday, May 30. First, the Academy Hill School music students in the choruses, bands and orchestras under the direction of Lindsay Burke, Daryl Pike and Steven Muise will present their final concert of the year at 1:30 p.m. in the Academy Hill School gym. The concert is open to the public.
Also on May 30 the Mt. Blue High School music ensembles under the direction of Karen Beacham, Steven Muise and Carol Shumway will present their concert at 7 p.m. in the newly renovated Mt. Blue High School gym. This concert will feature the presentation of the annual music awards.
Thursday, May 31, will feature the student musicians at the Cape Cod Hill School beginning at 1:30 in the school gym. These students are under the direction of Lindsay Burke, Karen Beacham and Nancy Beacham.
The Mt. Blue Middle School concert will also be presented on May 31 at 7 p.m. in the Mt. Blue Middle School gym. These student musicians are under the direction of Lindsay Burke, Darryl Pike and Steven Muise.
On Friday, June 1, the fourth- and fifth-grade student musicians at the Cascade Brook School will present two concerts; one beginning at 10 a.m. for the student body and again at 1:45 p.m. for family and friends. These concerts will be held in the school’s cafetorium. These student musicians are under the direction of Mark Phillips, Karen Beacham and Nancy Beacham.
Ending the concert season will be the sixth-grade student musicians at the Cascade Brook School on Thursday, June 7. Two concerts will be presented; one at 10 a.m. for the student body and again at 1:45 p.m. for family and friends. These concerts will be held in the school’s cafetorium and are under the direction of Mark Phillips, Karen Beacham and Nancy Beacham.
Choral accompanists are Patricia Hayden and Sam Sytsma.
All Mt. Blue Regional School music concerts are free and open to the public.
