BATH, Maine (AP) — Maine State Police are investigating the death of a 6-week-old girl in Bath.
Bath Police Chief Mike Field said the death doesn’t appear to be suspicious, but that police by law are required to investigate the death of any child younger than 6.
Field told The Times Record (http://bit.ly/JqQxIt ) that Bath rescue workers were called to a home about 4:50 a.m. Wednesday after the child’s father reported she was unresponsive.
Field said the infant was taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, where she died.
