LEWISTON — Community Concepts, a nonprofit organization that serves uninsured or underinsured individuals living in central and western Maine, recently received a $5,000 grant from the Rite Aid Foundation.

With offices in Lewiston, South Paris and Wilton, Community Concepts will use the grant to provide residents of Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties transportation to medical appointments.

Rite Aid operates 79 stores in Maine, including 12 in Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties. The Rite Aid Foundation, founded in July 2001, is a not-for-profit foundation dedicated to helping people in the communities Rite Aid serves. Since its inception, The Rite Aid Foundation has awarded grants totaling more than $13 million to approximately 820 organizations in 488 communities.
