The judges were Lions Archie Wing, Dawn McAndrews and Scott Sanborn. Questioners were Lions Dave Walker and Bob Mulliken.
At the end of each speech the contestants were asked two questions. All speeches were evaluated in three categories: delivery of speech, material and response to questions.
The Monmouth Academy students placed as follows: first, Mackenzie Kelley, “Dyslexia,” $50; second, Angie Bechard, “Alzheimer’s Disease,” $40; third, Julia DeStefano, “Respect for Police,” $30.
Monmouth Academy coaches Scott and Cathy Foyt were presented a Lions Clubs International Pen for their hard work and dedication to their students.
Guy Piper was the chairperson of The Speak-Out for the Monmouth Lions Club.
