Deblois knocked off Houlton’s Zacharia Harvey in straight sets (6-4, 6-2) during the first round. He followed up with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Lewiston’s Brett Vallee. Deblois advances to the next round on Saturday.

The St. Dom’s junior was the lone local tennis player to advance to Saturday’s Round of 16. On the boys’ side, Dirigo’s Josh Turbide won his opening match over Lewiston’s Bryan Hall (6-1, 7-5) before falling to George Stevens Academy’s Johnny Xue, 6-3, 6-3. Edward Little’s Ben Bowles was ousted in the first round.

In the girls’ tournament, Lewiston’s Morgan Bowen won her opening match by easily defeating Hermon’s Jessica Allen, 6-0, 6-0, but she was halted by sixth-seeded Addie Devine of Catherine McAuley with a 6-1, 6-1 result. Addy Fuller of Dirigo and Winthrop’s Amber Pritchard both fell in straight sets in the first round, while Lewiston’s Paige LeBlond and Oak Hill’s Darby Beaulieu extended their opponents to a third set before losing.

In the second round, 11th-seeded Kaitlyn Thompson of St. Dom’s lost to unseeded Hannah Potter of Yarmouth (6-2, 6-1) while Lewiston’s Kirsty Beauchesne lost to Deering’s Molly Gallagher (6-4, 6-1).
