Quilting class
MONMOUTH — A nine-patch quilting class will be offered from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, Monday, June 4, and Monday, June 11, at the Packard Activity Center, under the church on Main Street.
Class members will construct a nine-patch with three colors, which will be quartered, turned and reconstructed to form a comfy sized quilt.
All proceeds will go to the United Church roofing fund.

Benefit Zumbathon
LEWISTON — Jen Laliberte of Sabattus will host a “PLZ DNT TXT N DRV Zumbathon® Charity Event” from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at the Elks Lodge, 1675 Lisbon Road, benefit the family of Tyler Bisbee, who was killed last year in a car accident caused by texting and driving.
Ticket prices are $20 in advance and $25 at the door, with a $5 discount available to those who sign the pledge to not text and drive. There will be door prizes, vendors and raffles. More information may be obtained by calling 576-8808.
Shaker classes
NEW GLOUCESTER — Tim Greene will demonstrate his blacksmithing skills at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, Route 26, at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9. It is free and open to the public.
A chair caning workshop will take place from 9 am. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at the Village. The $35 fee includes cane. Preregistration is required by calling 926-4597.
Golden Age auction
AUBURN — The Golden Age Group of the IHM Parish will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, for a social hour at Sacred Heart Church. Members should bring something for the auction/raffle to be held after a short business meeting.
Reservations ($5) for the shepherd’s pie lunch may be made by calling 576-4082. New members are always welcome.
Robotics camp
TURNER — SAD 52 Adult and Community Education will host its first Maine Robotics Summer Camp, a week-long day program where boys and girls, ages 9 to 12, learn about robotics and engineering.
Currently accepting registrations on a first-come, first-served basis, the camp is designed to help young people find out how engineers work to solve problems and help people in day-to-day living. The campers will work in small groups to design, build and program LEGO robots.
The camp will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 16 to 20, at Leavitt Area High School. Cost is $250.
