Waste collection
ANDOVER — There will be a free Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at the Andover Transfer Station.
Acceptable items include oil-based paint, stain and varnish, auto transmission fluid, chemical fertilizer, pesticides and pool chemicals. Call the town office at 392-3302 for a complete list of items accepted.
School kick-off
DIXFIELD — A summer kids’ event, Sky Vacation Bible School, will be hosted at the Dixfield Congregational Church from Sunday to Thursday, July 8 to 12.
Kids will participate in Bible-learning activities, sing songs, play teamwork-building games, have treats and experience Bible adventures. Kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings.
Each day will conclude with Fly Away Finale – a celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they have learned.
Family members and friends are encouraged to join in daily. The school is for kids age 3 and up and will run from 5:30 to 8 p.m. each evening. For more information, call 357-5477.
An ice cream social will be held at noon Sunday, June 10, at the church to kick off the Bible school and to allow parents to preregister their children.
