MEXICO — The Vocational Region 9 board is looking for ways to reconfigure the duties of staff members in order to cut the budget.
Director Brenda Gammon said two closed sessions were held Wednesday night to deal with specific people in specific positions.
The first reconfiguration would use three office staff support people to cover the position of adult and community education secretary. The secretary is retiring Aug. 1.
Gammon said she and Adult Education Director Nancy Allen will discuss ways all four positions can be covered by three people, then make a recommendation to the Program Committee. The committee will make a recommendation to the full board in July.
The second configuration would have existing staff cover the positions of forestry instructor and custodian. The forestry instructor is retiring at the end of this school year. The custodian submitted his resignation Wednesday night.
Gammon said she will present recommendations for filling the two positions at the July 11 board meeting.
