TURNER — Lawrence “Larry” Sirois is formally announcing his candidacy for the Maine House of Representatives for District 96, which includes the towns of Turner, Minot and Hebron.

“I’m frustrated by what I see going on in Augusta. For too long the concerns and interests of the hard-working people of Turner, Minot and Hebron have been ignored and I’m ready to do something about it,” Sirois said. “I am committed to bringing responsive, common-sense representation to Augusta that is in the best interest of our communities, not special interests and not partisan ideology,” he said.

Sirois has been a longtime teacher, coach and basketball official, and served two terms in the Maine Legislature. He has taught math in both Auburn and Turner, teaching high school students and adults for more than 40 years.

Sirois and his wife, Nancy, have lived in Turner for the past 42 years. They raised their three sons, Wesley, Jonathan and Christopher, in Turner. Larry has been a deacon and trustee of Turner Village Church. They have six grandchildren.

Sirois may be reached at 207-225-3316 and at lansir@megalink.net.
