AUBURN — City councilors Tizz Crowley and Leroy Walker will host a public “Opening of the Beach” celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the Auburn Municipal Beach.

Rain date is Sunday, June 17, same time.

The beach will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.; no lifeguard will be on duty.

Activities include a cookout, games and a music circle. Guests are invited to bring acoustic guitars, hand drums, fiddles and other instruments for a jam session.
