PARIS — Residents will be asked to approve a $3.94 million municipal spending plan Saturday at the annual town meeting.
The proposed budget amounts to a tax rate increase of about $1.20 per $1,000 of assessed property value.
The budget could be slightly higher, depending on whether residents choose the $400,000 recommended by the Budget Committee for road repairs or the $514,000 selectmen recommend, which could raise it to about $1.70, Selectman Ted Kurtz said recently.
Included in the budget is funding for a new police cruiser and a sidewalk tractor for the Highway Department. Selectmen-elect Sam Elliot and Gerald Kilgore will be sworn at the meeting, which begins at 10 a.m. at the Paris Fire Station on Western Avenue.
