DIXFIELD — On June 9, The Front Porch Cafe celebrated its first five years with a full front-yard barbecue. People came from across the state, and Florida, Vermont and Canada.

Owner Sammie Angel and her husband, Clint Bailey, the chef, were joined by their employees, who volunteered time that day. The celebration was intended to thank Dixfield and the surrounding towns for loyalty and support during the past five years.

During that time, The Front Porch Cafe has served nearly 80,000 people, and there are names inside their “covered bridge” (the handicapped accessible ramp leading to the front door) from all over the world.
